Archives, History, Politics

Welcome!

I am an archivist and scholar of modern Canadian history and politics, with a focus on immigration, “race,” “whiteness,” and multiculturalism.

My research to date has specifically examined the long and intertwined histories of racial discrimination and multiculturalism in Canada. Publications includeThe Racial Mosaic: A Pre-History of Canadian Multiculturalism (2021) and articles in the Canadian Historical Review, Settler Colonial Studies, Études canadiennes/Canadian Studies, Canadian Military History, and History Compass.

Formerly a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of New Brunswick,
I am currently an Archivist (Private Sector Records) at the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick and an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of History at St. Thomas University. I also occasionally teach courses in the Department of Political Science at the University of New Brunswick.
